Dogana was once an orphan who became a pupil of Orlons alongside the paladins. Compared to the more laid back Hakin, Dogana stood out as a genius – his talents, knowledge, and determination were considered by Orlon to be that of a prodigy seen only once in a generation. According to Nekra, Dogana had a twisted personality even as a child. His sadistic attitude was presumably due to the death of his sister.
At some point after losing her, Dogana found a small puppet toy beside her corpse. After that he has been using his genius intellect to bring back those who he lost as reanimated puppets. He has been so obsessed and lost within his journey that he has gone mad, losing sight of his true goal while turning himself into a puppet. He considers himself to be one of his most favorite creations because now he can never age past the age that he lost his sister, so when she returns she will recognize him.
During the several clashes between Orlon and Zenjin, Dogana has traveled around villages to search for strong trophies for him to gather into his collection. Many people from different lands have called him the “Toy Collector”. Dogana performed various experiments on his prisoners, some being fellow Demons he kidnapped. He used them as guinea pigs to develop techniques that would grant his master immortality.
